Tracy Frostick, LMSW

I work with adults and teens who are navigating anxiety, trauma, and major life transitions. Many of the people I support feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences, or disconnected from themselves and others. I offer trauma-informed therapy in Grand Rapids, providing a supportive space to slow down, build safety, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Areas of Focus

My Approach

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care that focuses on understanding and addressing the root causes of emotional distress, not just managing symptoms. I integrate EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness- and somatic-based practices to help clients explore how past experiences continue to influence present-day thoughts, emotions, and reactions.

Therapy is collaborative and paced with care. I emphasize nervous system regulation, self-understanding, and practical tools that support meaningful, sustainable change. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, clear, and capable of responding to life with greater flexibility and confidence.

My clinical work is informed by ongoing training and experience in evidence-based, trauma-focused, and mindfulness-oriented approaches. I draw from these frameworks flexibly, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs, goals, and readiness.

Relevant training and approaches include:

  • EMDR Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)

  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

  • Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Neurofeedback

  • Mindfulness-based and somatic-informed interventions

I focus on helping clients understand the underlying patterns contributing to anxiety, trauma responses, burnout, and emotional overwhelm, while supporting practical, day-to-day regulation and resilience.

Working With Other Professionals

Many professionals and caregivers seek therapy during periods of burnout, secondary stress, or major life transitions. I enjoy working with individuals who carry a lot of responsibility and are ready to focus on their own well-being. Therapy offers a space to slow down, explore what’s underneath the stress, and reconnect with a sense of clarity and steadiness.
